On a brighter note ... Yay ME!! I finally finished that blasted paper - the one the Bad Prof wants. Good thing, too. It's only due tonight!! Problem is, I use OpenOffice and when I save it as a .doc file it seems to reformat the entire freaking paper. I give up!! I'll go to school early tonight (class starts at 6 PM) and reformat the freaking paper. Then print it up and be done with it. YAY!!
Saturday is the last day I have classes. Another YAY!! I'll miss Mr. P's class ... but he's the teacher that I'll keep in contact with after the term. He's mentoring me in business. He's full of good ideas about *Elsie's Attic* and some of the things I can do as customer rewards. More on that later ... but I'll be blogging *Elsie's Attic* with special deals for my Multiply friends.
Oh ... here's a random thought ... when is your car not your car? When the kids need it, of course!! Single Son's van is down again, and he needs to borrow it to get back and forth to work at the Police Department. Normally I wouldn't care, but this week isn't a good week to borrow it!! Classes are dismissed as soon as finals are over - so that means no set time to get out of class. Meaning that good ol' Mom is gonna have to wait around for ever for *my ride* to get there.
Oh well ... Single Son just came into the room. "Mom you need to shower so we can get going." Yeah, I need to be told to get off the computer. Geesh! LOL!

That doesnt sound good about Ringo, whats stressing him out so much?

No, they haven't moved in yet. They've toughed it out until this term was over for me - they should be moving in by year's end, though.
ReplyDeleteNot sure what's stressing Ringo out ... three of the cats are gone - I know they were a huge stress on him. Shiloh is the only cat left (besides Ringo). He's more like a little brother to Ringo ... always watching him and keeping an eye out for him. In fact, Shiloh came running to me a few times meowing like a madman ... until I followed him to where Ringo was having seizures.
Em, special thanks for the website. It describes a lot of what Ringo is experiencing. He's always been a sensitive cat (a rescue cat that was severely abused). Now I'm not wondering if adopting out the three cats may not have been the icing on the cake for Ringo. All this started about the time they were born ... but really has been worse since they left. Go figure.
I'll really have to be careful with the *kids* moving back in. Especcially since they bring with them a very active three year old, a kitten (Shiloh's sister - at least he knows the kitten), and one super hyper puppy. I'll just have to make sure he gets a lot of quality time with me.
You're welcome. I am the caretaker for my son's "emo" cat....she used to scratch herself incessantly and after a half dozen trips to his vet - everything physical was ruled out and the only recommendation was kitty prozac. Now that she's with me in a household "routine" she's much better (though her neediness can be annoying)
ReplyDeleteParticularly with rescues - there can be issues with inbreeding that show up in personality disorders even if there wasn't any abuse - so your poor Ringo may have double issues.
Oh, and if you've got neighborhood cats wandering around outside - Ringo could be stressed by something going on beyond your house that you aren't even aware of. One of mine gets very upset on occasion - and it's generally because there's another cat in "his" territory - even though he's an inside cat - he feels his boundaries extend much further.
Em, I've talked to my kids, explaining how it's gonna be with Ringo ... keeping him as stress free as possible. Should be interesting, especially with Married Son moving back in with his entire crazy crew.
ReplyDeleteOther pets in the 'hood don't bother him ... we've always had neighbors with barky dogs ... and cats only wander around on occasion - thanks mostly to being surrounded by said barky dogs and the strict animal control laws out here help too.
He is an attention whore, always has been. Definitely the most high maintenance pet I've ever had. But also the most loving, gentle and tolerant pet I've ever had, too.
