Looks like fun, strange how the younger ones are recognising the Beatles. My son went through all the Rock, Emo, black bedroom, depressing stage and then recently asked if he could go through my old LP's to see what Beatles stuff I had. Of course now no-one knows what an LP is, they just download everything and don't get all the scratches and strange noises that remind you of your youth and parties where someone always destroyed your records!!
It was a lot of fun!! I was talking to the coordinator of the event, she was also amazed how the generations just seemed to blend so well together for Toppermost. Babies from JJ's age up to ... well, I'm guessing the old man sitting near us had to be in his late eighties. And boy! did he get into the twist - I was worried he'd throw a hip out!
I've still got most of my LPs at my folks place. I really need to get a turntable, introduce Grandson to the ol' vinyls! I've got almost every album Beatles put out on CD, but you're right ... there's something about the old crackling sounds! They just can't duplicate the wear and tear from listening to our faves over and over and over again!!
I've also got to find a cassette player. I've got most of Neil Diamond's collection on tape.
What I really need to do is buy the equipment to digitalize my collections. Then the grandkids can listen to the music I exposed my kids to!!
