Ten Thoughts Tuesday

Ten Thoughts Tuesday ...

1) Spring break is over. Bummer. Back to school for me today.

2) Went out last night to grab a carry-out pizza and cheese sticks. Yummy. A rare treat for me these days. Anyway ... it was raining. What wasn't still frozen was under water! My yard was sheet ice while the driveway looked like a small lake.

3) Looks like it'll be a good year for flooding. Still so much snow and ice on the ground out here. Yesterdays rain melted some of it, but the culverts already can't handle the overflow of water. Temperatures dropped overnight so that everything that melted during the day turned back into ice.

4) The weathermen are saying we're going to get another snow storm starting about 7 PM tonight ... they're calling for 5 to 8 inches of additional snow.

5) I really need to go out and buy some new clothes. Everything is so baggy on me that I'm down to two pairs of pants and a dozen or so tops. Luckily, baggy tops I can get away with - sort of. Some tops are so huge that they look like tents on me.

6) Not sure what my weight loss is to date. I go to the doctors next Monday. I'll get weighed then.

7) I love not being a slave to the scale!! I threw mine out a few years back when I realized frequent weighings were actually doing me more harm than good. I'd get depressed if there was even a slight gain, for whatever reason. No more!! Now I only get weighed at the doctor's office.

8) I've determined that my kids are weird. Very weird. Last night Single Son comes in my room. He brings his laptop. I'm laying down, watching tv trying to fall asleep. All he did was sit in my computer chair, looking at me while he typed. Cracked a smile every once in a while. Didn't say a word for about half an hour. Finally stands up, saying he just came in to say hi. Weird kid.

9) Single Son is 28. Can I really call him a kid?? Technically he *is* an adult, but he'll always be my child ... even when he's a hundred years old. Yup, kid ...

10) Once again, stumbling over this last thought. With not having blogged in days you'd think I'd be able to come up with ten thoughts. Nope. Nothing ... Oh ... I know ... Hey Cassie!! Don't forget about *your* ten thoughts today!! LOL!!!!

  1. Wow, congrats on the weight loss so far. I guess I've been remiss in reading your blog... so I'll have to investigate to see what you've been doing. And you have the right to call single son a kid forever! LOL

  5. Helen, We're pretty used to it out here. Had a blast driving home from school tonight. Roads weren't yet too slick, but well on their way to becoming a problem!

The last time I weighed myself was a few days ago at my mom's house. I don't know how accurate her scale is. The last weigh in before that was just before my surgery last month. Weight loss at that time was 65.5 pounds. I have no idea what it's at now. I'm hoping a few pounds lost. But, since the hernia was repaired I admit I have my appetite back and then some. I know I haven't gained weight. I'll know next Monday. LOL. I'm hoping I'll get the clearance to finally be able to start some sort of exercise program, too!!

    HUGS!!!

  8. Gee, thanks Anthony!! I'm sure by mid-June we may finally reach the mid sixties, at least that's what it's feeling like right about now. I just checked the weather forecast for the next few days. We're under yet another "winter storm watch". Expected snowfall through the weekend will be from six inches or more. Like we need more! LOL! I'm going to be trading my Grand Am in for a canoe once this crap starts melting!!

  10. Helen, it has been screwy weather for all of us hasn't it? That last storm missed us thankfully. But, I really feel for those who got hit with FEET of snow!! I don't envy them having to shovel it! I think we're all more than ready for Spring (or fall for ya'll) to get here! We all need some relief!!! HUGS!
