Let's see ... what else ...
I'm going to have to find a new home for Shiloh. Since Ringo's been gone, Shiloh has figured out he's finally the KING of the house. You know what that means - he's marking his territory! Grrrrrrrrrr. So, now it's looking for a new place for him. I'm praying he's out by Friday. I just can't handle it.
Then there will be NO more pets. Well ... Married Son's pets (once he finally moves in), but they leave when Son and DIL move out. Oh ... and he and DIL will have to take full responsibility for them. Including the cost of feeding and cleaning up after them. And heaven help those pets destroy anything in the house. I hear that Hondo (the dog) is a chewer ... this could get interesting!
Hmmmm ... what else? Ah yes. Went out with the folks a few days ago for my *belated birthday and good report card* dinner. Ya ... I'm 49 and still being rewarded for good report cards! LOL! We went to Red Lobster. Had a shrimp and scallop dinner. Don't remember what it was called, but damn it was good! I was really surprised that Mom went, too. She usually tells me she's not hungry and to just take Daddy out to dinner. Glad she did go, we had fun.
We all had a good laugh at my expense. Daddy was asking a bunch of questions about the Star Trek club and my involvement in it. Later he asked me what I was going to do with the birthday money my brother had given me. Told him I'm looking for a Star Trek Cookbook and will spend Brother Deere's gift of money on that. "A Star Trek cookbook? WTF, do they tell you how to cook Martians?"
Because the snow storms had started while we were out, I had to call Mom to tell her I got home okay after I dropped them of at their condo. "Daddy and I are still laughing. The thought of you in some Star Trek costume is just too much". I'm really tempted to ask if they want to come along to a full costume event. Really freak 'em both out to see so many Trekkies.
Got my hair cut the other day, too. Tried to take a few pics, but didn't like the double chin that was showing (you know how that goes - stretch out your arm and try to take a pic of yourself. They never come out good). I'll try to get up a pic or two - even if it's the double chinned pics - within the next few days. Anyway ... I now have really short hair. And I love it!
Bunch of snow on the ground, too. Eight to ten inches. Alien had called to say she wanted to stop by the house for a few minutes to pick up some mail. I had told her to hurry up because I had to get my med refills today before the pharmacy closed. She volunteered to take me up to the store. I said sure why not. Then it dawned on me ... Oy!! Alien has her driver's license! Warned her about the street - snow covered and not plowed. A mess, as usual. "I can handle it, Mom" ... riiiiiiiiiiiight. I give her credit, she only got stuck a few times - and nothing she wasn't able to eventually get out of either.
Not a whole lot else going on. Just a lot of snow ... and homework season starts tomorrow ... and Star Trek ... and the typical things that fill my life.
Off for an early shower and early to bed.

The plate is full isn't it? I was wanting to ask you something. Are you and the Starfleet looking forward to the new Star Trek movie coming out this summer? I've seen the previews and it does look pretty good. Pat isn't into Star Trek or Star Wars at all so its probably a movie I will see during a matinee showing...lol
ReplyDeleteBill, ya, the plate is slightly full. LOL. Of course, the Crew of the USS Sinclair will be at the movie - in uniform of course, we've been looking forward to the new movie for a long time now. I've heard that we're to leave Phasers at home, though. Bummer. Too bad you're not closer, I'd invite you to tag along, since Pat isn't a Trekkie or SciFi fan ... matinee is a good time to hit the theatre, so long as it's during the week. Don't run into the disruptive teens ... or the Trekkies.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the new do! Punk Boy got a few inches cut off too the other day. He looks like a boy again!!
ReplyDeleteI hope the new classes go well this semester. What days will you be going to school?
Good luck with the new classes.
ReplyDeleteAww youve been a good girl getting good grades..hehehe isnt it nice when your parents think that. Dinner sounds yummy.
Aaack she has her liscence, hey you can call her now to take you places when you dont feel like driving, did she hit you up for gas money?
Pengy, I have two classes on Monday, one on Tuesday, one on Wednesday and one on Thursday. Monday's classes have me driving between two campuses. Should be fun, especially on snowy days, LOL!. I'm sure I'll blog about classes later (tonight when I get home or later in the week, I'm not sure yet, hehe). Will try later, too, to get up pics of the new do. Right now, I need to head out to class ...
ReplyDeleteHelen, thanks. I'm dragging already today and I don't have to walk out the door for another ten minutes, LOL. Dinner was fun. Wish I could remember the name of the dish I ordered. Rum Shrimp and Scallops something or other. Yeah, Alien has her license. Heaven help us all. Nope, she didn't ask for gas money. But she did use a money gift from Uncle Brother Deere to fill up her tank. I did mention something to her about becoming my new chauffeur. She basically told me that wouldn't happen unless I filled up her tank. Reminded her that I'd spent 17 years chauffeuring her happy arse around, it's payback time. Her reply to that was "can we say pedestrian, Mom?" Damn, I *used* to say that to HER ... now the shoe is on the other foot. Grrrrrr.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe Alien can drive now. I'm gonna blink and MY daughter will be driving! She's only 12 now, but I think Alien was 13 when I met you on 360. Time FLIES! Good luck finding a home for the cat. And I'm glad that you had a good dinner with your parents.
ReplyDeleteNow, GO BUY THOSE BOOKS!!!
Leann, ya, hard to believe isn't it? Four years sure has flown by ... next thing we know you'll be blogging about your 12YO driving! Scary isn't it? Not so much they'll be drivers, but that the time has just flown by!
ReplyDeleteYes ma'am ... bought the books - what books were in stock anyway. It was quite a day. Blog to follow (as soon as I upload a few photos). LOL.
LMAOOOOOOOOOO Yep can hear my kids sayin that too.
ReplyDeleteI just hate it when they turn MY words around and use 'em on me, don't you hate that? LOL!
ReplyDeleteYeah I do and they are so smug when they do it too.
ReplyDeleteBut I'm still the mummy so pfffft LOL
Does "I'm still the mummy so pfffffft" mean the same down there as it does up here? In other words jackschitt! I realize mine are a few years older than yours (minus Alien anyway) ... Mom's wisdom long ago turned to senility! I really think there's a reason we lose our memories as we grow older. It's so we don't remember who once had the POWER! Oh, I just got into an argument with Married Son - is it obvious? What about you ask? Basically a power struggle. Got so bad I told him "you don't like it, don't move the hell back here!" Needless to say that worked. I got what I wanted (for him to move a trailer I've been bitching at him to move for the last four weeks now). Kids ... gotta love 'em!
ReplyDeleteWell it does on my part LOL.
ReplyDeleteI'm losing my memory and marbles now, I'd like some of it back when I have grandkids though so I can corrupt them lololololol
Oh now wouldn't you think he'd have tried that on AFTER he moved back and not before.. Doh! LOL
It's funny what we forget only to be taken back in time when the grandkids suddenly remind us of our kids. I go through that all the time with Grandson ... a sudden flash and "your daddy was just like you". When he's old enough I'll tell him all the embarrassing stories. Heaven knows Married Son has had his share of 'em!
ReplyDeleteYeah, the dummy. Can you believe it? All it did was piss me off enough that after the argument we got into what I expect (rent, their buying their own groceries, etc) and what will happen if they don't keep up their end of the bargain. They don't like it? Too freaking bad ... I'm STILL the mom!
