Wednesday ...

Been a quiet few days, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. While it lasted.

Today I found out that Married Son can't have a pet on his rig, so Kitty Purry has to be adopted out. I just can't afford to take over as her guardian. I'm a little upset about it, she and I have really bonded since Sunday. Of course, she's also bonded to my ankle (literally), my computer power cord, a pair of socks she stole from me (and yes my feet were in them at the time), my flip flops, and miscellaneous other things she's either stolen from me or Single Son. She prefers to play with two litre soda pop bottles (empty or full) over shiny kitty toys.

She loves to sleep in her litter box, the garbage bag or in one of my shoes. She loves to climb my back and sleep on my neck (just as Ringo used to do, man I miss him).

Anyone want an adorable almost six week kitty? She is litter trained, weaned, and friendly as all get out.

Amy?? I'll even drive out to you to deliver her!! Hey, any excuse to get down your way ... and know that Kitty Purry is going to a good home!

I know, no pressure there!!

So ... Cap and I have another date tomorrow evening. Concert in the Park. With his sister, no less. Yes, we're up to the point that we're planning on meeting each others family. My mom even suggested we stop by tomorrow since we'll be passing the condo on the way to the park. We'll see. Not that I'm dreading them meeting him, or vice versa, I just don't think a quick dash in and out is the right way to meet the parents. Even if they're MY parents, LOL.

And yes, I'm sure - Amy and Em - that I'll blog about it. Just for you!!

Ringo

It's with a heavy heart I write this ...

My beloved Ringo passed away a few hours ago. He had a bad seizure and never fully woke up from it. He passed away in Married Son's arms a short time later. He was seven years old.

I'm going to miss him dearly.

Two down ...

... Three to go. LOL.

This photo was taken some time ago, I'm guessing about seven months ago. Shamira is on the left, Shiloh on the right. Shiloh is now twice the size of Missy Shammie.

Shamira and her baby went home with Married Son today. Yeah, I decided to let the tortoise shell kitty go home with Married Son. Decided it yesterday. He thought he better come get them quick before I changed my mind and kept "No Where Man" for myself. I know he's awful young, but since Momma was going with him, what the hell? It'll probably help Shammie adapt to her new house if she's got her baby to fuss over anyway. LOL.

I never did get any pictures of No Where Man. Married Son promised to take pictures and email them to me.

Ros will be next. When her babies are weaned and adopted out in a few weeks, anyway.

Then it will be only Ringo and Shiloh here. Two boys. No more girls around here. The Kitty Whorehouse is C.L.O.S.E.D. once and for all.

As Married Son was getting Shamira into his truck he got scratched. Not a deep scratch at all. I could only laugh as I handed the kitten to him. "Tough guy, stop your whining. You'll get over it". Geesh, of course the cat is going to scratch, she's scared shitless. Never been out of the house let alone all the way to the road and then into a vehicle. I was amazed she sat (almost paralyzed in fear) on the front passenger seat. Baby kitty was placed next to her and she calmed down considerably.

I got a text message not two minutes after Married Son pulled away.
Son: remind me to never sign up for animal control
Me: no shit, you're too much of a wuss, lol
Son: she f*-ed my arm up dude
(only he didn't use the *, he spelled out the whole word)
Me: they tend to do that when they're scared.

Dipstick kid ... we've always had cats around. Hell, I had cats before I had kids. Some clawed, some declawed. The cats that is. The kids still have their claws. He knows they scratch - and when!

I'm wondering how Alien will take the news when she returns from a week with her father. Then again, she's over at Married Son's house a lot, it's not like she won't see Shammie or the baby ever again. But I'm pretty sure she'll still be pretty pissed off at me for a while.

WTF Friday, LOL!

I haven't seen Ros' kitties since they were born, she's kept them nice and hidden. Soooooo ... earlier tonight Alien starts yelling for me to get downstairs if I want to see a kitten. I go, only to discover it's not one of Ros' kittens!! Missy Shamira had a litter (unbeknownst to us!) a week ago ... possibly two by the fact this kittie was wandering around already, however wobbly it wandered.

Ros' kitties are much bigger, and the markings are totally different than Missy's kitten. Missy's kitten looks more like it's a tortoise shell, where Ros' are more white than tortoise.

I just have one question ... how the hell does an indoor cat have a kitten (or possibly more) and no one here knew it! And how the hell did she keep it so well hidden.

We've named the new baby "Mr No Where Man" since he seems to have come out of nowhere!!

But now Married Son has to wait until this kitten is weened before he can come pick up Missy Shamira. It'll be summer's end before she's able to go home with him now.

Kitties Update ...

There's only two kittens. Yippee!

Poor Alien had to sleep in the same room with them. She's usually a sound sleeper, but every sound she heard last night had her jumping up to check on the new babies. See, we can't close the door since Ros needs to get to the litter boxes (Alien brought food and water up to her room for Ros) ... so the other cats kept sneaking into Alien's room last night trying to check out the new babies. Ros wouldn't hear of it and kept letting out warning growls. The other cats finally gave up, but they all stayed in Alien's room and slept with Alien.

She's got a way with animals, that child does. And not just our pets, but any animal. Totally opposite Single Son and his bad luck with the animal kingdom, that's for sure!!

I haven't tried to get close to the kitties yet. I doubt Ros would let me. Alien, however, was allowed to check on them. She only saw one clearly enough, said it looks like a dalmatian, mostly white with a few tiger stripe *spots* on it. Said it's the ugliest kitten she's ever seen, LOL! I told her "now, remember they were just born, it'll take a while for them to register on the cute-ometer. Besides, you weren't that cute as a newborn yourself but look at you now!! " LOL. Yup, remember my philosophy ... "If your kids don't end up in therapy as adults you're raising 'em wrong".

Before leaving for school today Alien woke me up with "instructions" for the day. Check on the kittens frequently and to keep the others away. Riiiiiight. I'm going back to bed!! I barely slept last night. Ros will keep the others away just fine, trust me! Gotta laugh, though, it was cute. She's a hovering kitty-gramma, she is!!

Tonight is Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. I'm sure Alien will come into the room a hundred times while I'm watching the game to tell me to shush because I'm scaring the "babies".

Kitties Kitties ...

So we knew Ros Kitty was pregnant. We just hadn't calculated *how* pregnant that's all. We have two new baby kitties, barely an hour old. Born, of all places, in Alien's closet. We have no idea if there's more coming or not, but based on the fact Momma is still walking around meowing up a storm I have to assume there's at least one left to be born. Then again, knowing Ros she may have been telling us to come check out the latest litter.

I'm so adopting not only all these new kitties out, but the Kitten Factory is outta here in six weeks, too. The other two cats, Ros' first litter, are now old enough that they're gonna be fixed as soon as the vet has their next "low income" day.

I'm sure pictures will follow in the up-coming days, once the kittens are out and about.

What's funny is one of the kittens has already been adopted out, Bubba's girlfriend wants one soooooo bad and has been just waiting for this litter to be born, LOL. I just need to adopt out Momma and the remaining kitten(s).

Anyone want a kitten? LOL!

Ros Kitty (a.k.a. the Kitten Factory) chilling with Alien just about an hour before the kittens were born. Shoulda known then that something was up. The only time Ros comes into my room is when she's in need of something - like comfort in this case. LOL!
