Ten Thoughts Tuesday

1) Yesterday was a looooong day. Took Dad to his doctors appointment ... that's after driving 17 miles to get to their house, then 25 to the doctor's office (I passed my house on the way to the docs, LOL) - two hours spent at the doc's office ... back to the condo stopping for a late lunch on the way back - then grocery shopping, then 17 miles back home. Felt like I'd been driving in one huge circle all day long!! Oh wait, I did drive in one huge circle!! All that on just under four hours of sleep. Thankfully I didn't have any housework to do around the condo, Brother Deere had been out to clean a few days earlier. Yeah Brother Deere!!

2) As tired as I was, I stopped by Married Son's house after my day playing chauffeur. Didn't have a choice, really. I needed to put power steering fluid in my car (it has a slow leak), but couldn't get the hood open. It squealed every time I turned all the way to Son's house - where he couldn't get the hood opened either!! Oh, the hood release worked with a lot of effort, but the hood latch wouldn't un-latch! He worked on it for a while ... finally got it opened, oiled the latch ... filled the power steering fluid. Only, I still have the squeal. My suspicion is that the power steering pump is dying. Great. There's two hundred bucks down the drain.

Alien was at Married Son's house when I pulled in the driveway - she was supposed to have been at her dad's already for the week. So ... I decided to hang out there a while, visiting with two of my kids. Ended up taking Alien to her dad's house after. By the time I pulled back in my driveway, 12 hours had passed.

3) Single Son is taking his time with buying a car! I wish he'd make up his mind once and for all. I need his van. The car is way too expensive to drive any more. LOL. Yeah, the van eats gas, but damn, it'll be cheaper than all these repairs going into the car. But, I do understand the time he's taking in picking out a car. He plans on keeping a new vehicle for at least ten years - he wants to know that he's getting the best value for his money.

4) Oh yeah, LOL ... when I was at Married Son's house, Marble - the kitty - came out for a visit. She's a cutie, growing so quickly, too. Her momma stayed in hiding, though. Didn't get to see her. I did finally get pictures of Marble, but damned if I can remember where I put my camera when I got home yesterday! I'll post when I find it.

5) Got some pictures, too, of the beach at the condo. Mom hinted I should bring my suit to swim sometime. I might take her up on that offer yet. Once I find my bathing suit that is. I think I remember which box I put it in years ago, LOL. Hmmm, wonder if it even fits anymore?

6) Rabbit ear antennas really don't work with digital converter boxes!! I really need to get one of my sons to hook up the antenna to the TV set.  It's going to require someone climbing on the roof to replace the cable, running new cable, then hooking it up to each of the TVs that we have. A lot of trouble to assure we have a TV signal after the conversion date! And no, I don't want cable TV, thanks!

7) Aha!! I think I remember where I left the camera - in my car. Gonna get it so I can upload a few pics ... BRB.

8) Back. Did you miss me? Yup, camera was left in the car. Oops!! Photos will follow at the end of this entry ...

9) Man, I really need to get motivated. Got some errands I need to run today. My errands, not Mom's. LOL. Grocery shopping being the biggest one. Yeah, we're running low on waffles, LOL!! Riiiiiiiiiiight, I don't buy waffles - the Bulk Gremlin does!!

10) Michigan Primary Elections today ... get out and vote!! And if you don't vote for whatever reason - don't bitch when election results come in and YOU don't like 'em!

Bonus Thought: I just noticed that ya'll been busy blogging today. Multiply isn't sending updates to my mailbox today for some odd reason!! I'll catch up with ya'll when I get back from errands.

  4. It must be the distance then because I use rabbit ears to pull in digital signals without a problem but I'm only about 25 miles from the transmitters. I'm using an RCA amplified. Also, keep in mind that at least right now - that signal is coming in on the UHF band - so make sure that outdoor antenna of yours supports UHF or it will be a lot of work for nothing.

  6. Ladies, LOL, excuse the laziness by not replying individually.

Yes, she's an adorable kitty. Got the personality to match her good looks, too!! Even tolerates Grandson's rough handling (he's learning - she's patient, LOL).

Isn't that view great? It's a small lake - you wouldn't know it by the pictures I took though. Nice and quiet, relaxing. A view I wouldn't mind waking up to every day, that's for sure.

Multiply decided to email every update at once. Over 60 emails! It's nuts!

Thanks for the heads up on the UHF antenna. I'm pretty sure Single Son knows about that kind of stuff. He's definitely our resident electronics geek (and computer geek, and bulk shop-aholic and ... ).

Today ended up as busy as yesterday. More driving around in circles. Only this time I stayed in town, LOL. I'm so not used to so much driving any more!!
