Friday Five - a day late

This week's theme and questions were provided by Jacklyn705, click here to go to her page.

February 1 is Groundhog's Day . . . this week's questions are a "Groundhog Day" theme based on the movie, which involves things you wish you could do over just like Bill Murray does in the film:

For those of you not familiar with the movie, click
here.

1) Name one place you have been that you wish you could wake up as a pleasant surprise.

The cottage my family owned when I was a kid. Waking to the sound of my parents quietly talking over a cup of coffee, or Grandma in the kitchen getting our breakfast ready. Waking to the familiar and comforting smell of the old cedar panelled cottage, the pine trees and coffee brewing in the old coffee pot on the stove. The sounds of the breeze, birds chirping, Grandma's voice softly singing her favorite songs.

2) Name one song that you wouldn't mind playing every single morning when you wake up.

Blue Highway by Neil Diamond

3) Name one person you would like to have a do-over with as he does with Andie McDowell's character.

Not so much a do over as maybe another few days with my brother. I'd tell him all the things I regret never having told him while he was alive. Oh, he knew I loved him, we said "I love you" all the time ... but to have had that chance to say it one last time. To just have the chance to talk with him once again (if only briefly) about my hopes, dreams, fears ...

4) Name one decision you've made that you'd revise if you could.

Having dropped out of college when I was younger. It's a decision that's effected my entire adult life. Sure, I'm back in college almost three decades later but I wonder if my life and that of my children's would have been easier and happier had I gotten that degree way back when and had a real career instead of just jobs that brought in low wages.

5) If you had the chance to know what your day held, would you want to? Why or why not?

Probably not. Whether it be a good day or a bad day ... knowing would remove some of the challenges, the surprises each day brings.
