And I'm going out in it!! I really don't want to, but I've been putting this off for a month now. No more excuses, not even the weather. Alien and I are headed to my folks for dinner. Haven't seen them since before my surgery!! What's funny is we're getting along great these days, so there's no reason, really, for not getting there. Just had to cancel every other time we'd planned dinner for one reason or the other. And I'm too much like my mom to let the weather stop me. She's the *brave* one, the one who taught me how to drive in lousy weather. So she knows I can't use slippery roads as my excuse either!
Besides, she sent me a check yesterday in the mail. That sort of guilted me into not cancelling dinner with them tonight, LOL!!!!! I had *no* idea it was coming. She made it out to Sears, LOL, it's the last payment for the Christmas gifts I charged.
So my first stop will be to Sears to pay them ... then stop for batteries for my old digital camera. I'm giving it to my dad. It's perfect for him. He's a stroke patient, his right side is paralyzed. This camera is pretty much a one-handed camera. Pretty easy to use, too.
His first pictures with it will be of us, I'm sure. LOL! They haven't seen us since before Alien and I had our hair cuts and colored our hair. Should be a Kodak moment as far as Dad's concerned!
I had to laugh, yesterday Married Son, DIL and Grandson stopped by the house. Grandson is a hoot, I tell you!! I have this grabber thingie (reach extender) that Single Son got from the hospital back in 2000 when he had his car accident.
It's been handy to have around since I had my surgery. Anyway ... Grandson loves to play with that thing!! He'll pick something up and say "I got it, Gamma" and all but throw the object he's grabbed at me. Yesterday he kept grabbing ME with it! "I got you, Gamma" and he'd laugh as I pretend screamed "Oh no! Help!! He's got me! Help me! Help me!" We both laughed so hard. He got the hiccups from laughing!! The cat, Ringo , didn't think it was too funny when Grandson tried to grab him, though!!
Well, enough procrastinating. Time to get ready to head out.

Sounds nice =) Have fun
ReplyDeleteHUGSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS =)
Drive safely, stay warm....and David LOVES those grabber thingys! I borrowed one from my mom when I was pregnant with 5YO. I had heartburn so bad, the thought of bending over to pick something up made me queasy....
ReplyDeleteSo, David liked it so much that he had to buy us one of our very own! He's since bought a second one and he uses it to pick up toys when he's on a 'cleaning spree.' He won't bend over if he doesn't have to..which is funny to me because it's easier for me (NOW, anyway!) to bend over than it is to control that thing enough to pick up a hundred Legos! (HECK! It's even EASIER to get the kids to pick them up...they made the mess in the first place!)
They can be fun...and our cats don't like ours, either!
Safe trip - have a great dinner.
ReplyDeleteIt was a cluster out there this morning.
ReplyDeleteJust got back from the folks house. The roads weren't too bad, so long as you remembered to slow down and drive accordingly!! Well, we know that the majority of drivers *don't* remember to SLOW DOWN AND DRIVE ACCORDINGLY!! No problems, though. It was actually an enjoyable ride, even in rush hour traffic. LOL!!
ReplyDeleteCass, thanks. We did have fun. Lots of laughs at my folks house. They're as weird as I am. This nut sure didn't fall far from the tree!
Leann, LOL!!!! I can bend over, too. I just get too lazy sometimes. OR I have my socks on. I'm one of those pick 'em up with the toes people. It's funny how good you can get with that grabber. LOL!
Ms Em, thanks. Dinner was good. Mom made spaghetti and garlic bread. Stuck around afterwards to fix a few pieces of her jewelry and then show my Dad how to use his new camera.
Donna, Yeah, it was pretty bad out this morning from what I heard. By afternoon it was pretty clear, at least in Northern Oakland County. Hope your area didn't get hit too hard with that last snowfall. I'll be sooooo glad when spring finally gets here!!
HUGS!!
Glad that dinner went well and the roads werent too horrible for you. Hugs =)
ReplyDeleteMy mum has one of those grabby things as bending is a bit hard for her sometimes and my kids are still fascinated with it..LOL. Your granson sounds too cute and thats too funny when they laugh so much they get hiccups!!
