The neighborhood looks pretty rough. Hearing on the news, our township was one of the heaviest hit. I wouldn't be surprised, lol. Winds yesterday kicked up to 70 MPH at the front of the storm. There's limbs down everywhere. Alien is blocked in at her father's house - there's no way in or out because of fallen trees and downed power lines. Schools were cancelled today, three days before summer vacation officially starts, too.
The worst thing to happen to our neighborhood was a downed tree that blocked the road just a few houses away. Lots of branches and limbs that fell, too. Married Son came over to help clear the road should we need to have emergency crews come in. We didn't need them, but it's nice to have the street passable again. Got some pics of the whole removal process. Married Son was in all his glory moving those heavy trees with his 4X4 truck! LOL!
I had to run (drive, really) up to the store to get a battery operated radio. I hated being cut off from the news during that whole storm and with more storms on the way I don't want to be caught short again. The store was open, but only because they had enough emergency generators to run the entire store. Most businesses are still without power and closed. It was a madhouse in Meijer's, worse than usual for those of you who shop Meijer's and know what a zoo those stores can be, LOL. I was lucky to find a AM/FM portable radio - and for under $15 no less. LOL.
Our weather is nothing like what they've had in Indiana and Southern Illinios, the weather that Amy has been blogging about lately - we were really rather lucky. Oh, Amy, your hospital made our local news today with it's having to be evacuated.
The weatherman reports more storms on the way. Me and my new little AM/FM radio are ready this time, LOL.
Hoping all of my friends that are being effected by all this weird weather are staying safe.

Thats what we had well my particular suburb wasnt affected by the wind and power cuts just rain, but further down the road was. Today looks like its going to be calm... go figure!!
