2) I finally broke down and signed up for the discount cards for the Analog to Digital TV change. Got them the other day. Found out Single Son had also signed up for it, but with a limit of two per household he won't be getting his, LOL. I gave him one of mine. Guess we'll just have to pay full price for the other two boxes that we need. Or ... *if* I can talk Mom into signing up and then taking her two coupons off her hands. They have brand new digital tvs and cable. They don't need the converter boxes, LOL.
3) Now I have to go shopping. Yuck. I've been looking online and the best prices I've seen locally for the converter boxes are at WalMart. I hate that store with a passion, but if the boxes are only going to cost ten bucks each I'll venture in and out as quick as I can!!
4) Speaking of TV, I'm so addicted to www.hulu.com. They have old episodes of a lot of the shows I grew up on. Adam-12, Emergency!, The Addam's Family, McHale's Navy, and more. I've even been missing my favorite shows on TV for re-runs of the oldies. LOL.
5) I actually remembered to get the trash to the curb last night!! It's been six months or more since they moved my pick up day to Tuesdays, but I still forget! And no one else takes it upon themselves to take it to the curb. It all falls on me. Grrrrrrrr.
6) Speaking of *falling*. Married Son is supposed to come over today weather permitting and removed a bunch of small branches off the roof for me. Last time he went up on my roof he fell off! I'm half debating if I want to go outside and digitally record him up there. I'll stay on the ground, my roof climbing days are over. And yes, I'm the type that would keep recording as he's falling - gotta see if I can get that $10,000 winner for Funny Videos.
7) Had a lot of practice over the years with the kids and accidents. Some of them downright funny, some not. I learned early not to freak out over the sight of blood - unless it was all over my new carpeting. I don't panic during an event, and seldom afterwards (the exception being when Bucky attacked Single Son two years ago or Single Son's car accident in 2000). I'd be the perfect candidate to keep filming during a "hey, ya'll watch this" moment - keeping the subject within the viewfinder at all times, LOL. And heaven knows we have our share of bloopers. Yup, it's decided, *if* Married Son comes over today to clean off the roof, I'm recording it! Now for it to stop raining.
8) Oh damn. I'm out of cat food. And four pussies here to feed. Better run up to the store before it turns ugly around here. So much for staying home today. Wonder what other errands I can run while I'm out? Not a danged one. I'm all caught up on this week's errands. Crap.
Typical. Number 9 is upon me and the brain ceases up once again. Ummmmm ...
9) Wow!! It's that time of year to make my reservations for the Fourth of July Fireworks in the Village my son's a cop for. The police and fire department basically take over a lakeside park and without reservations you can't get in. Best seats in the village, too. There's a Street Fair, where they close the downtown area to traffic and have a bunch of carnival rides and games. There's a private picnic at the Police Chief's house, too. Great times! Over 120,000 came last year to the small village festivities.
Come on thought ten ... I know you're in there ...

Leann, what ticks me off about the trash is that I'm not supposed to be lifting anything heavy and my kids know it. I don't complain on weeks were we don't have a lot of trash, like this week. I have one huge trash can on wheels, so that makes it easier. When we have more than the one can I have to moan bitch and beg until the kids get the other non-wheeled cans to the curb for me.

I haven't left the house for just one thing in ages. Still trying to figure out if there's something else I can do while out. I'm sort of procrastinating right now. I need to figure it out quick, it's almost feeding time for the kitties. Gonna get nasty soon, LOL!
Yeah...cats don't do well with hunger. My stupid cat has PLENTY of food, but still made his way onto my kitchen counter sometime in the middle of the night when we all sleeping, ripped through the plastic on a loaf of bread and stole a slice! WHAT A WEIRD CAT, HUH??? Maybe he's bored with his brand of food or something...but this is the same cat that will take a flying leap from the floor to the kitchen table to snag a pancake and run away with it like it's a steak!

Leann, nope, not weird at all ... or else my cats are weird, too. They love bread! I have to store it in the microwave or else it's torn bags and bread crumbs everywhere!! I really need a breadbox! They haven't done the pancake thing, though. At least not yet. But watch pizza if you're here. They love to lick the tomato sauce off the pizza. Strange damned cats.

Amy, Married Son had cell phone modem thingie when he was out on the road all the time. Nice to have when you're otherwise internet-less. We have both DSL and a WiFi router here. Nice when there's a few computers that are on the 'net at the same time. LOL. I'm seriously looking into internet for my cell phone, too.
ReplyDeleteSo, how many kittens does Bob want? He may have to concede after a few litters! Especially if she has more than a few kittens with each litter. We've had two litters in a year (four cats total) and now suspect that Missy may be pregnant, too. I have an appointment for Shiloh to be fixed the next cat fixing event that the local Humane Society holds. Discounted castrations, lol. Talk about blue light special, eh? BUT, that's not until July. The trick is keeping him away from the girls until then.

ReplyDeleteHelen, The Vicar of Dibley is on cable tv here. Back a few years ago when I was dating "Santa" (6'6" tall and actually looked like Santa. A very tall Santa, but Santa never the less) ... back when I was dating "Santa" we watched a lot of Britcoms on cable. He got me hooked on "Hetty Wainthrop Investigates", "The Vicar of Dibley", "AbFab", and a host of other Britcoms.
